The design of the entrance to the room is one of the important points in the interior design. The door should be beautiful, practical and reliable. But to choose a model that meets all these characteristics, you need to make a lot of effort.

What it is?
An interior door is an opening in the wall with a special partition that provides a passage from one room to another. Thanks to her, people have the opportunity to limit their space in order to be alone with themselves.
Initially, the door served as a means of protection from uninvited guests or prying eyes. A piece of a large stone or a thick layer of tree bark could act in its role. But over time, its modifications took place. The dwellings were getting stronger, and the doors more neat and functional. Soon they began to perform not only a protective role, but also a decorative one. With their help, the homeowner showed his wealth and the social stratum to which he belonged.

In the bedrooms of kings or wealthy nobles, interior doors were decorated with precious metals or stones. What can we say about Ancient Egypt! The doors in the castles were a whole work of art. The craftsmen did not spare gold and precious stones.
Over time, this trend shifted towards practicality, as the overly decorated door was difficult to open and close. Lighter materials began to appear, which greatly facilitated its operation, as well as manufacturing.

Nowadays, buyers try to choose both a beautiful and practical door leaf, so that it delights every day with its grace and gives the opportunity to be in peace when necessary.
Views
When making repairs or redevelopment of a room, very often you want to replace the old door leaf or change the remaining building door. It would seem that nothing is easier. But it's not that simple.
With the development of technology, every year new models appear that have fundamental differences and characteristics. Therefore, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with all types and varieties of interior paintings.

First of all, you need to figure out what types of room doors exist.
The most common and common model is the classic door. This is a simple version of an interior sash that only opens and closes. Often this look is acquired by people who prefer classics in the interior or are conservatively related to household items. It is practical and durable when used as directed. Its type of opening is called swing.

The next type is sliding doors, they are also called suspended or mounted. As a rule, they look like a partition that moves sideways on rollers along rails. This is a very compact option, as it does not require additional opening space, only free play on the right or left wall. These doors come with either an upper rail or a lower one, and it is very important to ensure that the runners are well secured. Thanks to this mechanism, the door will not slam from the wind. It is quite quiet in operation, which is very suitable for children's rooms.

The third type is folding or corrugated. Such interior partitions resemble an accordion in their principle of operation. These are very functional and beautiful doors that take up little space when open. Today they are made from completely different materials such as plastic, wood, thick fabric and even a mirror. A variety of them are cascading doors that resemble a screen.

The most rare type of doors for interior space are pendulum or as they are called in the common people, swinging. They can swing open both forward and backward, that is, they can be two-sided. Its big plus is that no door frame is required for its installation. Soundproof qualities, unfortunately, are not their advantage, therefore, they are most often installed in offices, cafes or restaurants.

Automatic door type appeared relatively recently. They are based on the principle of action that they open and close on their own when a person approaches a certain distance. Thanks to a specially adjustable photocell, you can adjust how long the door will be open after a person passes and how quickly it will close after he leaves. We can say that this option is not typical for ordinary city apartments, but it is rapidly gaining popularity in smart homes and high-tech apartments.

The next criterion by which interior doors are classified is the type of the structure itself. Allocate:
Unisexual
Such doors are also called single-leaf. From the name itself, it is clear that the door leaf consists of one single leaf. This is the most typical, compact and conventional no-frills option for standard interior openings.

Bipartite
These are doors that do not consist of one, but of two parts or sashes. In turn, this type is also divided into three categories:
- Equal - these are doors that have the same size of the leaf with the same fastening and type of action.
- Unequal - in this version, the doors have the same height, but different widths.
- One and a half - one leaf has the standard dimensions of an ordinary door, and the second part is exactly half of its width. The smaller part opens only when necessary, for example, when it is necessary to take out or bring in furniture, and the standard opening is not enough.

If we proceed from the structure of the interior door itself, then they can be divided into the following types:
Shield
This model has a solid filling without various decorative glass inserts. It consists of 3 components, namely the main body, filler and linings. This is one of the most common door models and has a very reasonable price.
If the door is too boring and ordinary, then a transom can be added to it. This is an additional sash above the doorway, which is decorated with inset glass and wooden slatted modules.

Paneled
A panel is a thin board or piece of plywood that is inserted into a pre-selected door frame. A paneled door consists of a wooden frame or laminated veneer lumber, which has special grooves for inserting individual boards. There is a combined option, when stained glass or ordinary ones are inserted into the grooves. Thanks to this technique, the door receives a beautiful pattern and embossed surface. If a drawing is cut out by machine, and not laid out by a person, then such a decor is called milled.
Such doors very often have an external finish - a decorative frame, it is also called a baguette frame. You can also opt for a telescopic casing that will give a complete and complete look to any door.

In turn, blind doors are distinguished, where the doorway is completely and completely solid and does not have translucent elements, that is, it completely isolates the internal space. It is often made with a patina to give it an expensive and aged look.
Its opposite brother is the open door leaf. Here, as a rule, there are glass inserts, thanks to them you can see that someone is behind the door.

By their design, doors are also radial or radius. Their name accurately describes their feature, namely they have a slight bend, thanks to which the door has a kind of semicircular shape, which adds grace and sophistication to the interior. It can be swivel or sliding on wheels.

According to the conditions of detention, the doors can be divided into 2 categories:
- If the air humidity in the room exceeds 50-60%, then it is necessary to use external or external doors. As a rule, these are front doors, driveways, etc.
- In the case when the humidity is much lower, then internal doors are suitable here. They are usually installed in rooms or offices.

Most modern interior paintings have a wide variety of additional devices. One of them is a rebated door. Such models have a special strip on the edge, which brings the door to full closure. Because of this design, they are also called doors and a quarter, since usually this rail has a width of 1/4 of the total thickness of the door.

The design idea is constantly at work, as a result, masterpieces are born in the form of transformer doors. These are unusual models that have unusual opening and closing methods. For example, a sash can turn into 2 rolling triangles or rhombuses, and when it is closed, it is restored to a regular door leaf again.
For an example of a transforming door, see the next video.
Materials (edit)
When choosing an interior door, it is necessary, first of all, to pay attention to the material from which it is made. The price, quality, and also the service life largely depend on it. Today there is a wide variety of raw materials for their manufacture, so a creative door leaf can be selected for every taste and wallet.
Wood
The most widespread and widely used material. It is a wonderful and environmentally friendly product. Most often, such tree species as pine, larch, alder, oak, ash, linden, cherry are taken for production. The texture of the solid wood door has always been distinguished by its unusual beauty and aesthetic appearance. This material has excellent soundproofing qualities, is lightweight, restrains cold air currents, and also adds coziness and comfort to the room.

It should not be forgotten that such a door must be periodically re-varnished so that the processes of decay and moisture do not touch it. Even in the store, you need to look through all the corners and details so that they are initially impregnated with stain or special solution.
A door made from a solid piece of wood will last a long time, the main thing is to take care of it and prevent the appearance of chips or cracks … It is worth noting the fact that the pricing policy of this material has a large scope, so you can choose a completely acceptable and high-quality option.

Lining
Very often, such doors can be found on the market. They look just as good as their solid wood counterpart, but they cost half the price.

Fiberboard and chipboard
Cheaper option. Door leaves made of such material have low thermal conductivity, which means that the room will be warm and comfortable. They are not inferior to the containment of extraneous noise. In the store you can find such doors without finishing. Therefore, there is a great opportunity to paint or paint the door yourself. They are sometimes made with PVC coating to add strength and nice texture.
Due to the fact that the raw material itself does not have a very decent and aesthetic appearance, it has to be carefully processed and sometimes a rather heavy masking layer is applied.

It is also worth knowing the fact that with poor and improper processing, this material is capable of evaporating the so-called formaldehyde vapors, which, of course, will not benefit humans.
The strength of fiberboard and chipboard is much less than that of real wood, so you should be careful with them and avoid strong blows on the door (dents or cracks may remain). In this regard, such door panels are not an entirely acceptable option for a children's room.

Plastic
Perhaps, these doors are practically the most versatile. Most often they are installed in cafes, hotels, offices, balconies, etc., but they will also look great as an interior sash. In terms of its qualities, PVC is a fairly durable and lightweight material. Some models are fire resistant, i.e. during a fire, they do not burn, but foam, thereby not spreading the fire further across the room. They are very easy to care for, do not damp, do not rot, with a good thickness they keep the cold well.
Of course, with the help of such raw materials, you can create doors with a certain texture (for example, wood), but upon closer inspection, you can see that this is an imitation, therefore, for the most part, such doors look pretty cheap.

Glass
These interior doors are among the most unusual. Due to their properties, they transmit light, which allows you to save a little on electricity, and also visually expand the passage. Glass is usually inserted into the frame for added strength and safety.

Manufacturers offer different types of glass to choose from. It can be stained glass, frosted, colored or ordinary with a decorative film glued on top. There may be doors with combined glass and wood, glass and plastic inserts, etc.
These products perfectly tolerate temperature changes, accept wet cleaning normally, and are not afraid of chemical cleaners (with the exception of some types).

If you choose a high-quality frame, then such a door will be no worse than a wooden one to hold back the cold and cope with increased noise from another room. There are no particular drawbacks to such doors, the only moment is that it is difficult to pick up a handle so that it looks harmonious with it.
Thanks to the mixing of glass and plastic fibers, fiberglass was born. It is a unique material, very durable and lightweight at the same time. Fiberglass doors have appeared on the market recently, but have already established themselves as high-quality and durable.

Metal
Of course, you can also find metal interior doors on the market. As a rule, they are aluminum or steel. Often, the door is a metal monolith, which has various cladding made of plastic or wood.
If we compare them with the above models made of wood, then we can say with confidence that metal doors have poor sound and thermal insulation. Therefore, they must be "mixed" with polypropylene, fabric or wood upholstery. An interesting texture and color can be given thanks to the acrylic coating.

If you want to buy an elite and simply incredibly beautiful door, then it is better to take an interior sash made of stone. It can be natural stone, artificial or granite. As a rule, such doors do not consist entirely of this material, it can be a combination with wood, metal and even glass.
This option costs a lot, but it will last a very long time, and will also give a lot of pleasant impressions, because such a door is truly an interior decoration.

Paper
If it is not possible to purchase a pompous door, then there is an economy class option, namely, paper interior partitions. For a person who first comes across such a definition, it may seem that it is really made of paper, but this is not entirely true.
For their manufacture, masonite is taken, which, in turn, is obtained by pressing wood fiber and adhesives. Then a blank for the door is made from it and at the end is covered with a plastic film or laminated, which gives the strength and reliability of the future door.

Advantages and disadvantages
Having decided to update the doors in the apartment, it is necessary to take into account a large number of nuances, therefore, when choosing, it is better to use the advice of professionals. Consultants, as a rule, are in any store of doors and accessories. They will be able to suggest the best options for interior partitions that are suitable for a particular room. Each door has a certain set of pros and cons, but if you take them into account correctly, then all the disadvantages can be turned into advantages.
Each room is unique and has its own purpose, therefore the door should be chosen taking into account all the features. There is a set of rules on how to choose a door for a specific room.

If you need a high-quality bedroom door, then you need to proceed from environmental friendliness, thermal conductivity, sound insulation and design. The first point is very important, since healthy sleep and rest are some of the main factors when choosing. It is best to choose doors made of solid wood or at least natural boards. It can be pine, cherry, alder. The room will be filled with pleasant forest aromas, which will only contribute to a cozy rest.

The bedroom should be warm and cozy, so the appearance of drafts and simply cold air currents can damage both health and comfortable sleep. In this regard, it is better to give preference to wood products or chipboard, thick plastic or a product with a metal inner plate, upholstered with wood. The main thing is that the sash is not narrow. You should also qualitatively seal up all the seams in the door frame and think over the sill (it takes over 20% of the work in retaining heat and maintaining a comfortable thermal regime in the room).

As for the suppression of noise, then the parameters here are similar to thermal conductivity. As mentioned earlier, the bedroom is a place where nothing should distract from relaxation. The door, in turn, is a big subject and takes on a percentage of the attention. Therefore, it must be in harmony with the interior. It is best if it has pastel shades or neutrals.
By their structure, blind doors without glass or plastic inserts are preferable for such rooms. Firstly, extraneous light will not enter through them, and secondly, she will be able to hide everything inside from prying eyes.

In the children's room, the door should also have the same parameters as for the bedroom. But you shouldn't forget about safety. It is best if it is equipped with a closer, so that the child is not accidentally pinched. Do not forget about the handles. They must be of high quality and reliable, without an internal lock (very often children lock themselves and cannot then open them).

For the living room, doors have simpler selection criteria. They can be functional and stylish at the same time. When choosing, it is worth starting from the interior and the size of the doorway. In this room, you can install models of glass, plastic, wood, or a combination of them. The door can become an additional decoration of the space or a hateful screen that hides in the wall or shrinks to a modest size.
The best option would be to choose a canvas with the ability to transmit light so that guests and owners of the room do not feel like they are locked up with a closed door.

Very often, double doors, suspended or corrugated, are installed in the living room. They save space and do not overload the room when open.

For a place like a kitchen, the choice of door should be taken very carefully. There is increased humidity and temperature, as food is cooked in it. Therefore, it is better if the door is made of plastic or glass. These materials do not absorb odors, are easy to clean and are not afraid of changes in temperature and humidity.
If we consider its opening mechanism, then it can be ordinary swing doors, folding or hinged.
It is very important that the door does not interfere and does not take up excess space, especially if the kitchen is small and a large family is dining in it at the same table.

The bathroom is also a special place, so the interior sash must be specific. The most important factor in this room is humidity, so it is worth excluding veneer doors from the sample range. From excess moisture, they begin to swell and exfoliate, even if they are covered with a special solution. Over time, the door will begin to lose its original appearance.
The best material for such a room is glass. It is not subject to decay, corrosion or dampness. It only needs to be wiped off occasionally with a towel so that no streaks and water drops remain. It is also important that it be covered with a matte film or have a pattern so that the person does not feel embarrassed or worried that someone will see him. Plastic doors are also a good option. They also have a number of distinctive qualities that will help extend their service life.

Colors and decor
A modern door manufacturer can provide a wide variety of doors in different styles and colors to choose from. Therefore, today it has become much easier to choose the right interior door so that it pleases every day.
It is worth noting that each interior of the room is created in a certain style, which is determined by its characteristic features, in this regard, the doors are divided into different species groups according to their design.

The following areas are distinguished:
Classic
For such doors, aristocratic restraint and correctness of lines, clear proportions are typical. If there are glass inserts, then only rectangular or square. The paneled construction is characteristic. As for the color, beige shades, white or ivory dominate. Sometimes you can find specially aged elements, which gives the product a special charm.
Details such as cornices, capitals, corrugated platband or semicircular are also appropriate.

Ethnic
This design is characterized, first of all, by the chosen ethnic group. Each nation has its own heritage and its own characteristics, as well as certain color preferences. If this is the eastern direction, then arched doors or in the form of partitions are observed here. Severe geometric shapes are rare.

Such interior doors are mainly made of natural wood (walnut, oak, mahogany, ash, larch). The color palette is very bright: red, trendy yellow shades, the famous mahogany, green.
Modern
Door models in this direction are very beautiful and unusual. Here comes a mix of oblique, curved and straight lines. There are always decorative elements in the form of frosted glass, stained glass, artistic forging, etc. The colors can be varied, they can start from light beige and end with dark ocher shades. They can also have an unusual texture and relief, or they can be pasted over with a special film, thanks to which it will shine and shine for us the sun.

Baroque
Such interior doors belong to the Lux class and represent the most luxurious doors. This is a truly unique design style. Such canvases differ in their size - as a rule, these are double doors. They convey the full scope and breadth of the soul of the designer who designed them. They have a large number of decorative elements, maybe hand-carved, even the slats that hide the seams have a special pattern.

All colors are life-affirming, giving a feeling of confidence and lightness at the same time. Of course, it is white, shades of pink, blue, turquoise, sand, as well as red or burgundy.
High tech
It is safe to say that this is the most advanced style. This is where beauty meets the maximum realization of the functionality of the door. They are incredibly stylish and beautiful. For their manufacture, eco-veneer, PVC, MDF, metal are used. The surface in most cases is glossy, even, without protruding decorative elements. They can be supplemented with lighting, an unusual opening mechanism, and have enamel handles.

Rococo
These products are very complex. Soft rounded shapes with straight lines should be observed here. The presence of a carving, ornament or pattern is mandatory, where symmetry is very important. The palette is also important. Colors should be soft and calm: blue, ocher, mint, silver, milky. Silver-plated or gold-plated details can be found.

Country
This direction is typical for country houses or cottages. Such doors are very simple and not intricate, sometimes they even seem rude, rustic. They bring coziness and a sense of security to the room. They usually do not have decorative carvings or design flair. Such doors should perform maximum functionality, the main thing is ease of use. For this reason, solid wood, lining or MDF panels are taken for their manufacture. The color range is very modest, here you can find such colors as cappuccino, mocha, beige and woody shades.

Scandinavian
The characteristic features of this style are its unobtrusiveness and simplicity. These doors are dominated by light and warm shades that visually expand the opening. Due to their laconism, they can fit almost any interior. Doors will look equally good in a bedroom, kitchen or living room.
As for the decorative moments, there is also a rejection of pretentious carved elements; curved or wavy slats are unacceptable.

The maximum that is allowed is panels. If there are decorative glass inserts, then this is only frosted glass. The materials used are mainly natural wood, veneer or PVC.
Dimensions (edit)
Since the time of Stalin's buildings, a mandatory standard for the door frame was introduced, where its width and height were clearly prescribed. Since then, GOST has been constantly changing, the standard sizes have undergone changes. Today it is possible to install a door of absolutely any configuration, if the dimensions of the room and its walls allow, but even now almost all door products have an average height and width.

The dimensions of the door include such parameters as height, width, thickness, as well as its weight (further work on installing the door sometimes involves laying bricks or inserting wooden slats, which can increase the weight and load on the wall). Therefore, it is very important that the door frame matches the door to be installed.

The standard door leaf height is considered to be 2 or 1.9 m. In houses with higher flows, the height can reach 2.2 m. It is very important that there is a small space at the bottom - 3-5 cm so that the door has free movement.
One of the important parameters is the width, since the comfortable passage of a person through the doorway depends on it. Usually, single interior doors are 0.9-0.8 m wide, this is a fairly wide passage. For a bathroom or toilet, as a rule, narrower doors are made - 0.5-0.6 m. As for the front door, its width should be at least 0.9-1 meters, since all the furniture is brought in through this opening and necessary things for the house.

An important parameter is the thickness of the door leaf, because the silence and calmness of the person living in the apartment depends on it. It is usually selected individually, it all depends on the needs of the customer.
There are also certain standards for door frames where 2 doors are installed. The height corresponds to single-leaf openings - 2 meters, and the width has dimensions of 1.2-1.5 m. Very often one half is in a stationary state, it can be opened by moving the lower latch (on all doors it can be at different heights) … And there are models where both doors function in the same way.
Double-leaf interior doors help expand the space, and also contribute to the consolidated and comfortable passage from room to room. They are usually installed in a living room or a large hall.

Do not forget the fact that when buying a door abroad it will have different size standards, so before buying it is necessary to clearly measure the doorway so that you do not have to expand or reduce it.

How to choose?
Going to the store behind a new door to the room, it always seems that her choice is very simple, but when faced with a huge selection of models and species diversity, it becomes much more difficult to decide. There are a number of tips that can help you find the right and reliable door. Thanks to them, choosing a door for any room in the house, be it a bedroom or a closet, will be much easier and faster.
The first step is to decide on the parameters of the room in which the door will be installed. As mentioned above, not every model is suitable for a bathroom, and not every door will be able to cover the full range of necessary qualities for a bedroom.

Doors should be matched to the overall interior of the room. It can match the wallpaper, the color of the floor, and have similar lines (if the room is made in high-tech style, then there should be clear lines and right angles, and the door can also coincide with common features).

The second step is to choose the type of door opener. Of course, there is nothing better than a classic swing door, but if the room is small and you want to keep as much free space as possible, then it is better to put a sliding interior partition or a folding one. Thus, it is possible to save 1-1.5 sq. m of free space.
It is worth deciding on the opening side. There are right and left doors. This is usually determined by the working hand - if the owner of the room is right-handed, then, of course, it is easier for him to open the door to the right, the same applies to left-handed people.

As experts say, you should not save on quality, so it is better to pay a little extra and get a better option than to buy a cheap door, and after 3 years go again for a new one, as it began to swell or warp.
In this regard, it is worth initially abandoning doors made of pressed paper with lamination, since after a few months it will begin to unstick and lose its original appearance. Of course, there is nothing better than real wood, but there are doors made of MDF or lining, which are no worse than luxury doors.

When choosing a door, it is worth considering in advance its color range, that is, it will be closer to dark or light tones. If the room has a light floor, then the purchase of a dark door will be a very controversial issue. Strong contrast can resonate strongly, so choose a solid or neutral color. It can be milky, coffee, or chestnut. It is worth considering the fact that a dark door will visually narrow the passage, and a light one, on the contrary, will expand.
It is worth avoiding boiling white canvases, as any touch on them will leave stains that will become more difficult to wash over time.

Particular attention should be paid to the details of the finishing of the canvas itself. It is very important that the interior decorative panels have a rounded shape, as dust and dirt accumulate very quickly in sharp corners.
Based on the purpose of the door, it is worth choosing the material for their manufacture. For example, in a bathroom or toilet, interior partitions made of glass or a large amount of glass should be avoided for known reasons.
The next important selection criterion is door handles. To understand whether it is suitable or not, you need to quickly tackle it several times in a row. If in the process of this action the hand did not catch or hit the corners of the handle, then it is perfect for you.

Decor and size make a big difference too. Most designers and craftsmen are advised to give preference to simplicity and brevity. Doorknob and lock (if any) should be on the same theme. You should not take models with gilding, as over time it will wear off and will have bald spots.

One of the most important parts of the door is the hinge. They are external and internal. Depending on the style of the door, their type is selected. For classic doors or semi-antique doors, external hinges are characteristic, they look harmonious and can be combined with the pattern and color of the handle.
For modern models in high-tech or modern style, only internal hidden hinges are suitable, since these doors should not have anything superfluous and distracting. Hidden hinges have a significant disadvantage - they are not always able to allow the door to open 180 degrees, which can complicate the use of the canvas.

The choice of the door must be taken very seriously in order for it to serve for at least 20 years.
Replacing the door is much more difficult than installing it initially, so do not rush, but it is better to weigh the pros and cons.

Equipment
Any door structure has a certain minimum of components that are necessary for high-quality and reliable door installation.
It is advisable to put a new box together with the new door. An obligatory element of any door device is a box, since the door must be fastened to something.
Also, the equipment may vary depending on the width of the wall. If its thickness is approximately equal to the door frame, then platbands are placed on both sides. They are necessary in order to close the gap between the doorway and the frame. But in any case, it will be at least 1 cm. This is necessary so that the polyurethane foam fits well and it is easy to adjust the position of the door leaf.

If the width of the wall is greater, then additional material is needed here, which will be needed during collection. This requires slats made of MDF or other raw materials that are suitable for this system. They are needed in order to fill the large gap between the wall and the door frame. You also need a molding with which you can mask the seams with foam. The rest of the fittings can be obtained at the request of the client (another door handle, door closer, threshold).

It is worth noting that the components will differ depending on the door mechanism. If a sliding sash was purchased, then it needs a guide rail along which it will move. If the door operates according to the "accordion" system, then the kit includes assembly panels, a profile with rails, and a rail.

Do not forget about the weight of the door. If it has sufficiently weighty dimensions, then it is necessary to install a reinforced door frame so that it simply does not fall from its own weight.
What to replace?
An ordinary interior door can be replaced with several alternative options, since sometimes standard interior openings are inherently boring or ordinary.

In small apartments, for example, in Khrushchev, it is sometimes unnecessary to have doors in each interior opening, since, firstly, they block the light if the room is closed, and secondly, they require additional space for free movement, and for small rooms this is unaffordable luxury. In this regard, interior designers and craftsmen give several recommendations that will help you use the space correctly.
One of the easiest ways is to use textiles such as curtains or thick fabric. This option is suitable for almost any interior and will complement the room with coziness and beauty.

Today it is possible to choose absolutely any fabric that will be combined with the wallpaper pattern or the color of the walls. The main thing is to think over a convenient hanging system so that it is easy to move or hang them. This can be a curtain rod, wall studs, or hooks.
Each homeowner can create such a "door"; this does not require special skills and abilities. The result depends only on the breadth of the flight of imagination and, of course, money, but even then large investments are not required. Many housewives use fabric for curtains, tapestry or tulle as a material.

Do not forget about the fact that each room has its own purpose, therefore, the curtain must be appropriate. For example, if this is a bedroom, then the entrance opening must be covered with a denser fabric, since prying eyes will not allow you to fully relax and have a good rest. The relaxation room should have an atmosphere of tranquility, intimacy and comfort.

A translucent fabric is perfect for a living room. The air will be able to circulate unhindered, thus the room will be fresh and comfortable.

As for the kitchen, then it is worth considering the fact that food is prepared there, as a result of which smells appear, which sometimes are not always pleasant. Therefore, it is better to use a dense material that is easy to clean and also holds back kitchen aromas.
Interior doors in the form of filament curtains can be a great alternative. You can make them yourself or purchase them from a textile store. They are very beautiful from beads, beads or multi-colored threads.

If it was initially decided not to install an interior door, then you can decorate the opening in the form of an arched vault. Thanks to such a bold decision, the apartment can take on the appearance of a studio, where there is a lot of free space and a spacious, wide passage.
Today there is an opportunity to create absolutely any shape for an arch. It can be an elongated oval, an even circle, a hemisphere connected to a rectangle. Before carrying out work to change the type of wall, you need to consult with a specialist, he will be able to suggest the correct option so that there are no extra costs, and no deformation occurs (very often in new buildings that are not 3 years old, the walls sag, in this regard, bevels are obtained and cracks).
It is worth noting the fact that such a small redevelopment will not take a lot of money and time, the main thing is to choose the ideal shape of the opening so that it concisely connects the two spaces.

An interesting solution would be to install blinds instead of a door. For this, a model with vertically arranged lamellas is suitable. Due to the fact that there is now a large assortment of textures, colors and materials of this product in stores, you can choose blinds for any pocket. Their big advantage is great reliability, practicality, ease of use, and ease of cleaning. Of course, such a design will allow noise to pass through, but on the other hand can hide from prying eyes at the right moment.
Due to the rapid development of the furniture industry, any store selling blinds will be able to help in choosing the necessary model, as well as to make custom-made fabric slats from any fabric or natural materials (pressed hay, wood), which is very fashionable and environmentally friendly today.

Perhaps the most outstanding option can be considered a door partition in the form of an accordion. Its design is very simple: individual sashes are fastened together with special fasteners, and each lamella is attached to the top rail, which is attached to the wall. Thanks to this design, the door is easy to assemble and does not block the passage. The materials for its production can be different, for example, plastic, decorated with wood, wood, or even dense fabric on bamboo sticks in the Japanese style.

Thresholds
In the days of the Soviet Union, according to the established rules, all houses and apartments had to have a threshold at the door, and no matter what it was, the insulated entrance or interior. Years passed, standards changed. Therefore, the owner of an apartment or house can decide whether to set a threshold or not. He can be both an assistant and a hindrance, in this regard, it is necessary to carefully consider all his positive and negative sides.

The pod can serve a wide variety of useful functions. It helps the door to keep noise and extraneous sounds, but it is worth considering the fact that in this case both the door and the threshold must be made of high-quality material with the required thickness, and also have rubberized seals for complete sound insulation.
Also, the threshold serves as a barrier to the penetration of odors, this is especially necessary for the kitchen room, where they constantly cook, as a result of which pleasant aromas or the smell of a failed lunch are formed. But the hood, which is usually installed above the hob, can also help in this matter.

Thanks to the door sill, the appearance of both the passage itself and the door frame as a whole is improved. Very often, at the joints of the interior space, a discrepancy or overlap of the flooring is obtained, which can be hidden using the same threshold, while maintaining the integrity of the general appearance and interior.

The gutter will be able to help prevent leaked water from spreading or a container that has been accidentally overturned outside the room. First of all, this applies to the bathroom, since there is direct access to water and pipes, which sometimes break or burst. Therefore, thanks to the threshold, small puddles can remain within this territory without damaging the entire apartment or house.
Finally, it will help keep your home clean. Retaining air currents and drafts, it does not allow dust and debris to move freely through the apartment, so you do not need to vacuum all rooms every day, this can be done one by one.

But like every item, the threshold has a few minor flaws.
If a person with disabilities lives in the house and can only move in a wheelchair, then it will be difficult for him to cross the threshold every time, especially if its height is several centimeters. Also, do not forget about people of advanced age. It is difficult for them to move around the room, and what can we say about small interior obstacles. Very often, older people bang their toes against them, resulting in injury. And the last minus is the difficulty in placing the flooring. It is necessary to disassemble the already existing threshold so that all materials are butt-to-joint with each other.

Of course, this is an individual choice of everyone - to set the threshold or not, but it is always better to think over all the nuances of the repair in advance.
If, nevertheless, it was decided to install it, then it is necessary to choose the material from which it is made. There are stone, wood, metal and plastic thresholds.

For the manufacture of a threshold from wood, such species as pine, linden, oak are mainly used. As a rule, it is installed for wooden doors or for plastic ones with a wood pattern. They are inexpensive and are most often installed in rooms, and not at the front doors.
For the manufacture of a metal threshold, aluminum is most often taken. Due to its plasticity, any shape can be made from it, as well as a multi-level structure or angular.

Plastic sills most often perform a purely aesthetic function. In terms of strength, this material is inferior to many, but due to its properties, it can take on any texture and color, which makes it versatile in terms of decor.
Perhaps the most expensive and indestructible is the stone sill. It is very durable and can be fitted to almost any door. Its only drawback is that it must be installed in advance, that is, before installing the door, otherwise it will be almost impossible to do this later.

More recently, a drop-down or “smart” threshold has appeared on the market. This unique design features a strip of gasket across the width of the door that falls out when the door is closed. During closing from below, a push button is triggered, which presses on the release lever. When the entrance leaf is opened, the lever becomes in a stationary position and the anti-threshold rises, thereby allowing the door to move freely.
It is very important that the floor is level.if not, the device will cling to irregularities and will not last long. It is best to initially level the floor before installing the door or door frame as a whole, this will increase the convenience not only of using the door, but also its installation.

Drop-down transformers thresholds are very convenient and practical, they perform all the functions of their usual brother and facilitate the movement of people in the house.

Manufacturers
Today, many countries are engaged in the production of interior doors. There are places where unique types of trees grow, so the price of canvases made from rare raw materials will be expensive. In some countries, on the contrary, they have learned to use cheaper materials, respectively, the demand for them is greater and the price is lower.
Today, there are several major manufacturers of high-quality interior paintings imported into Russia.

Israel supplies both interior and exterior doors to the Russian market. This is not to say that these are cheap models, but their quality is not bad. The only thing is that this country produces a small range of canvases.

Are very popular italian doors … Their products are targeted at the premium as well as the business and upper mid-range. This is due to the fact that leading designers are engaged in the development of sketches, which means that each model is a kind of work of art and home decoration. Some of the the most famous houses are Bosca Arredi, Astor Mobili, Longhi other. Most of their products have elements made by hand sometimes by the master himself, and this has been appreciated since ancient times.

Italian designers advise to start choosing a door from the moment the renovation begins in the room, since their products are able to set the thematic mood of the entire interior. Individual orders can surprise any customer. Skilled craftsmen know how to combine different types of wood, make unique drawings, and on one side it can be of one theme, and on the other hand it can be completely different. Only thanks to love for one's work and ardent temperament a high-quality door leaf appears, which will delight with its beauty, durability and long service life.

Most often, such doors have a panel structure, and the box is made of high-quality glued wood. Designers like to add glass inserts or metal elements. They are not afraid of temperature fluctuations, as well as high humidity.
Since the beginning of the 90s of the last century, Spanish doors … This is due to the fact that beautiful classic door leaves are made in Spain. Basically, they take mahogany veneer as a raw material.

The main difference between such doors is their luxurious and refined appearance (and this was sorely lacking for people of the 90s). Today, such doors are available to almost everyone, since craftsmen began to take into circulation cheaper raw materials (MDF, chipboard), but this does not affect the beauty and quality of the goods. Spanish designers are characterized by moderate pretentiousness and love of luxury, which is typical of the Baroque style.

Russian manufacturer is also at a high level. Due to the huge territory, it is possible to manufacture doors from various types of wood, which makes it easier for the buyer to find exactly the option he was looking for.

Pricing policy is very different, so everyone can buy a domestic door. Manufacturers from the Volga region, as well as St. Petersburg and Altai factories, are distinguished by their skills. For example, Karelian doors are famous for the fact that they take high-quality local pine for production. And this tree has unique properties. It heals body and soul.
Of course, very often you can hear that imported doors are better, but it all depends on the machines and equipment on which they are made. Therefore, even if you take high-quality wood and process it on old machines, the result, of course, will be disastrous.

Today, a large number of well-known companies buy equipment abroad, which raises the quality of products by an order of magnitude. In Tver ("Sofia"), in Penza ("Dors"), in Kaliningrad ("Optim") and other cities, such high-quality doors are produced that Italian or Finnish door factories could compete with them.

Scandinavian doors also proved to be good in the market. Basically, they are intended for people of the middle class and lower incomes. Their products combine laconicism, simplicity of form and functionality. Most often, their interior doors are made from a solid piece of wood or from a frame-panel construction. Birch, pine or larch are taken as raw materials. The finished canvas is treated with varnish or special impregnation.
For cheaper products, a regular frame is taken, which is then pasted over with solid MDF sheets, sanded and painted. The result is a beautiful and high-quality door.

Differs in its style and Germany … German products have a share of extravagance, restraint and brevity. In turn, its manufacturers possess a special technique for processing and manufacturing doors, which makes their door leaves unique.

Designers often combine different materials, mainly leather and wood. A distinctive feature can also be called the love of artificial aging of the material. Therefore, their products are suitable for both the classic interior and the modern style.
An eco-veneer is taken as a raw material for the main part of the door leaf, and a wooden bar is used for the frame. Thanks to such a robust design, the product will last long enough.

Japan also distinguished by its individuality and uniqueness of design, shape and texture. As you know, in this country, sliding interior canvases are mainly produced. Bamboo, glass, paper and plastic are used as raw materials for their production.

Perhaps one of the most massive and cheapest doors around the world are products from China … Most people are doubtful about their quality, but it is worth noting the fact that this country manufactures a very high-quality product for its domestic market. All sorts of materials are taken for production, from elite wood to ordinary plastic. In this regard, the pricing policy differs.

Customer Reviews
If there are fears that a store consultant is trying to impose a low-quality interior door on you, saying that it is good, then it is better not to purchase this product. It is best to turn to the opinion of the people who, like no one else, can describe all the pros and cons on the part of the user.

The first thing you need to know about is the opinion about the operation of various mechanisms, if, for example, you wanted an accordion door or a sliding door. Reviews of corrugated doors vary widely. Consumers indicate that this is a very budget option that everyone can afford. Plastic acts as a material, plates are made of it, which must be connected to each other. Many advise not to take doors from this raw material, it is better if they are wooden panels … Many people say that such a sash helps to contain odors if it is installed in the kitchen, but it lets in noise and is not suitable for a bedroom or bathroom.

Also, many argue that such plastic doors become flimsy within two years, and all the hinges quickly loosen, and the closing and opening of the door is accompanied by a specific noise that can wake up sensitively sleeping people at night. Its only big plus is the significant space savings.
As for sliding rail doors, here buyers note that it is better if the rail is on top, not below, since you can touch it every time with your foot or furniture, as a result of which it is deformed and the door in the niche can get stuck. Many of its positive qualities in suppressing noise are noted.

As for the raw materials from which the doors are made, opinions differ here too. For example, some consumers purchased a MDF door covered with PVC foil from the Yucca company. It was noticed that the door is of medium weight and good thickness, and thanks to the presence of silicone gaskets, it suppresses noise well and does not let drafts through. In general, customers are very satisfied and have been using this model for several years.

Not entirely positive comments are also left about the Bravo company. The material is pure plastic, so the price at the door is very affordable. It was noted that after 1.5 years, the color faded, and the edge of the door began to delaminate. Its good advantage is its water resistance - the material does not absorb water, but greasy or mud stains are very clearly visible on it.
For an interior opening, many advise a door with frosted glass. Such a sash is inexpensive, fits perfectly into any interior, and will also delight you with its ease of maintenance. The main thing is that the frame in which the glass is planted is made of durable anti-vandal materials, and not of veneer, since scratches or chips are very quickly formed on it.

They speak very well of the models made of solid wood. First of all, such an interior door will immediately change the interior for the better. The room will become much more comfortable and elegant.
To make a quality door leaf, you need a good machine and tools. Therefore, if a wooden door has roughness and a poorly mounted keyhole, then it is immediately clear that the machines in this production are outdated and require replacement. A high-quality door requires a lot of experience and skillful hands from the master.

Each such interior canvas will be unique in its own way. This is due to the fact that each tree trunk has its own unique pattern, which is difficult to repeat or imitate. It is worth mentioning the environmental friendliness of this raw material. Unlike PVC, this door will not emit formaldehyde or other toxic odors when heated in the sun.
All owners of wooden interior doors note its soundproof qualities, the ability to keep cold from other rooms, as well as excellent wear resistance. Such products are bought almost for life.

Interesting ideas in the interior
Today, an interior door is more than just a door that delimits space. It is seen as a decoration, a decorative element of the room. Therefore, it is very important that it is correctly selected and combined with the overall interior.

To purchase a truly beautiful door, it is best to contact a specialist or designer who will suggest a functional solution and new items of the season. Using examples of samples, he will show you the different options from which to choose.
As you can see in this photo, this sliding door is installed at the junction of the bedroom and living room. Despite the fact that it is made of glass, the intimacy of the rest room is not disturbed. The glass is frosted and quite thick. But the sun's rays can still pass through it, which helps to lighten and expand the space.

Here, the interior partition was also successfully and interestingly selected. For this living room, this is a truly interesting option. Clear lines and symmetrical glass inserts do not distract attention, but are an essential addition to the room. I would also like to note the moment that these are double doors with an extended side wall.

This model, like no other, fills the bedroom with coziness, an aura of protection and tranquility. The door is made of natural wood, without pretentious and additional decorative elements. The style is very similar to country music. It is ideal for the given space.

If the apartment or house already has interior doors, but they are already tired of the order, then there is an interesting design solution, how to update them and breathe new life into them. The most common way is to cover the door with photo wallpaper. They can be 3D printed to help expand the space.

The wallpaper can be changed at any time, which will be much cheaper than reinstalling the door. The main thing is that the door leaf does not have convex and embossed patterns, then the paper will not fit well and the expected effect will not work.
The second great way is to paste over the remaining wallpaper. So the door will merge with the common space and will look harmonious. It is better not to glue the whole door over, but only in small fragments.
Here is the option that is best avoided. If the pattern on the wallpaper has straight geometric lines, then sticking them to the door should observe symmetry.

The third option is the use of textiles. For example, in the kitchen or in the bedroom, if there is a large inserted glass, drape it with curtains or a screen. This option is perfect for children's rooms.
As you can see in the photo, the fabric goes well with the door, does not make it heavier and looks harmonious with the wallpaper.

Perhaps the simplest option is conventional painting. The main thing is to choose the right paint for the material from which the door is made. For the process to go smoothly and correctly, it is necessary to secure the door handles, lock and hinges with paper tape so that they do not get dirty.
It is better to choose a water-based paint so that there is no smell that takes a very long time to erode, and if the door is on the sunny side, then it may begin to emit a paint smell from heating. You can change the color of the entire door or use a stencil to apply an unusual pattern or ornament. This will add originality to the room and make it more sophisticated.

For those who like to travel and share their impressions, there is also an excellent solution. You can hang a map or photographs from your travel destinations on the door. It looks very nice, especially in a cozy bedroom.
The most unusual and difficult to implement is the addition of dried flowers to the decor. This is usually done on door leaves, where there is double glass, then the first is removed, and dried flowers, herbs or leaves are attached to the second with the help of transparent glue. When the glue is dry, the glass is put back. It is very interesting to look at the structure of plants in the sun and just admire them.

If the door has ordinary glass, then it can also be decorated with special stained glass paints. If there are no special skills in this matter, then stickers that imitate stained glass can help.
In any case, decorating the door with your own hands is much more interesting and cheaper than completely changing the door.
