A place to store clothes should be in every home. This significantly saves not only living space, but also a huge amount of time and nerves that are spent looking for the thing that is needed at the moment.

Smart people have come up with whole systems for storing wardrobe long ago. This is much more convenient than conventional wardrobes. With proper placement and distribution of space between clothes, accessories and shoes, all things will have their place and will not lose their appearance.

What are dressing rooms?
Dressing rooms are divided into two types: open and closed.

Open wardrobes do not require a separate room. Most often this is a mini dressing room, equipped along a wall. Such dressing rooms are found, for example, in shops near fitting rooms. Such installations are not expensive. You can make them yourself.
Closed wardrobes, as a rule, are fenced on three sides by walls and can be closed by doors. In large houses, such dressing rooms can be installed in each room. Separate rooms can even be allocated for them. They can also be made by yourself, or you can order in one of the companies that specialize in the manufacture of wardrobe systems with a frame made of aluminum profiles and many hinged components. Such a system is easily assembled and also easily disassembled and, if necessary, moved to another place.

Minimalist style
Ideally, a dressing room needs 3-5 sq.m. area. It is also necessary to leave free space for changing about one and a half square meters. In addition, you need to provide a passage in the dressing room. To have a place to turn around, its minimum width should be about a meter. Usually a dressing room is made in the shape of a rectangle. However, in special cases, for storage of things, for example, beggar on the loggia, or a corner in the pantry, is taken away. In this case, we are talking about mini dressing rooms, and then its shape can be oval, and in the form of a trapezoid, or any other. Designers are very fond of working with such rooms, since every centimeter of space can be used here.

Any dressing room should be ventilated. It is good if you can install a hood inside the room. If this is not possible, it is advisable to leave a gap between the floor and the door. To prevent clothes from falling, set the hanger bars at a distance of 30-40 cm from the wall. At the same distance, it is better to make racks with shelves for shoes and accessories.

A minimalist wardrobe can even be placed in a studio apartment by choosing one of the walls for mounting shelves and other elements of the system. In order to separate the dressing room from the rest of the room, you can use a mobile screen on casters. The entire wardrobe system can be equipped on the same rollers: metal racks, hangers for bags and holders for belts and ties.

All elements can be swapped and easily replaced if necessary. Among other things, such a storage system completely eliminates the need for a large stationary cabinet.

Designers advise when designing a storage system to take into account the following rule: open and closed elements should be equally divided. Then she will not look too overwhelmed or, on the contrary, too open.

Design
Doors. The dressing room finish is fundamentally different for open and closed storage systems. If this is a separate room, then the door to it should be combined with the doors to the rest of the rooms. If we are talking about the space inside the room itself, here you can give free rein to imagination. You can install a shutter-type door, an accordion door, a sliding or transparent door. It will be very practical to hang a mirror on either side or on each of them. Or you can just limit yourself to a screen on rollers. Swinging doors are not typical for mini dressing rooms - they take up too much space, which contradicts the very idea of minimalism. For such structures, compartment doors are more suitable

Lighting. Whatever the dressing room is, it should be well lit. If stationary lighting is not possible, there are options for small lamps with clothespins or Velcro that run on batteries. Since they usually do not spend much time in the dressing room, there is no need for light there all the time. Therefore, you should think about lamps with motion sensors - when you open the doors, the light comes on, and when you close it goes out

Interior decoration. Materials such as paper, cloth, carpet absorb moisture and dust. Therefore, designers do not very often use them when decorating isolated dressing rooms. The most optimal materials for this case are plastic panels, tiles, self-adhesive films, artificial leather. It is better to put linoleum or laminate on the floor. Mesh parts can be decorated with pebbles or shells from the sea, and deaf elements can be painted with washable paint, pasted over with rhinestones or stickers

The constituent elements. In mini dressing rooms, the presence of non-functional elements should be minimized. All elements of the storage system must carry one or another semantic load. At the same time, they should be compact and not take up extra centimeters, which are already few in a minimalist style
All racks, pedestals, rails, shelves, rods and other elements must have a clear purpose.… Simply put, each stud should have its own cap and each hook should have its own eyelet.

Pleasant trifles. For a pleasant smell in the dressing room, spread or hang flower sachets everywhere. They are sold in stores ready-made, but if desired, they are easy to make yourself. It will also be useful to have an ozonizer or at least an air freshener in the dressing room. A very convenient option is a wall-mounted air freshener with a dispenser. And one more tip: everything should be at hand in your dressing room, including such things as threads, pins, buttons, scissors and other little things. As you know, any little thing can significantly spoil the mood

Ideas for placement
Mini dressing room can fit even in a small apartment. It's great if you have a storage room in your house. It is quite suitable not only for storing cans and old skis. She will also be comfortable with a minimalist wardrobe.

If there is no storage room, do not despair. Even in a cramped "brezhnevka" or old "Khrushchev", you can select a small nook for things, using part of the room space for this.
