A comfortable pillow is needed for comfortable rest and healthy sleep. Therefore, its choice must be approached very responsibly and take into account all the features of the product. Sintepon pillows are popular and in demand. In many respects, they are practically not inferior to products made from natural materials, and in some ways even surpass them. Sintepon is a hollow polyester fiber that, after the thermopolymer gluing procedure, undergoes additional siliconization and antibacterial treatment.

Features of the

Sintepon is the first synthetic material that has become widely used for the manufacture of pillows. It has several advantages:

  • environmental Safety. Thanks to the use of gluing technology without the use of adhesives, synthetic winterizer products are absolutely harmless to humans;
  • hypoallergenic. Sintepon, in contrast to downy products, does not cause allergic reactions. In addition, polyester fiber is not a favorable environment for the appearance and reproduction of pathogens, mold, bacteria and fungi, and also prevents the appearance of a dust mite;
  • hygiene. The synthetic winterizer does not smell itself and does not absorb unpleasant odors, is not toxic and is not prone to dust accumulation;
  • ease of care. Well tolerates hand and machine wash, dries quickly and does not lose its properties;
  • elasticity. During the guaranteed service life, it is not crushed and instantly takes its original form after getting up from the pillow;
  • quite large volume with low weight. A pillow measuring 0.5x0.7 m weighs no more than six hundred grams;
  • moisture resistance. Due to siliconization during the production of padding polyester, the products absolutely do not accumulate moisture;
  • ventilation. The hollow structure of synthetic winterizer filler promotes good air exchange, moisture evaporation and prevents dust from accumulating;
  • low price;
  • ease of use on the road due to ease of transportation and the ability to compactly pack the product;
  • the indispensability of the product for people working the night shift and forced to spend the night at the workplace;
  • the ability to use as a guest option for temporary accommodation of guests;
  • thermoregulatory function. Due to its porous structure and the ability to retain heat, the synthetic winterizer is able to warm in a cold room, and in hot weather, on the contrary, it will help to cool a sleeping person a little.

However, the material has some disadvantages:

  • short service life in daily use. Synthepon pillows can last no more than 2 years without losing their qualities, but due to their low cost, they make it possible to periodically update them;
  • not suitable for permanent use for people with problems in the cervical spine due to the fact that they are not able to reliably fix the neck and head in a certain position;
  • too soft: despite the elasticity, they are not able to provide the required rigidity;
  • a tendency to build up static electricity. Require the use of special antistatic additives during washing, which prevent the product from becoming electrified. When using a cover made of 100% cotton, the static is noticeably reduced. For baby pillows, for example, only natural covers are used.

Manual

In order to extend the life of the product, you need to follow the following recommendations:

  • observance of the temperature regime during washing. Do not heat the water above 40 degrees, and before placing the pillow in the machine, it should be abundantly moistened with water at room temperature;
  • use gel or liquid detergent for washing. It is very difficult to completely remove the powder from a material having a porous structure and consisting of hollow fibers, even with repeated rinsing;
  • wash in the "delicate", "child" or "synthetics" modes, spin at low speeds;
  • it is forbidden to use bleaching agents in order to avoid damage to the fibrous structure of the synthetic winterizer;
  • when washing in a machine, it is recommended to place several tennis balls with the pillow, this will avoid knocking down the material;
  • you can dry the product only in a horizontal position, periodically turning it from one side to the other;
  • when washing by hand, it is necessary to exclude long soaking. It is enough to place the pillow in previously prepared soapy water and leave it for 20 minutes. After that, gently patting, take out the product, squeeze out a little and start rinsing, changing the water several times;
  • do not wash the product more than 3 times a year;
  • after the pillow dries, you need to fluff the material through the fabric of the cover, while dividing it into fibers. The same should be done if the pillow fell off a little during use.

DIY making

You can sew the cover and properly fill the pillow yourself. This process is quite simple and will not cause difficulties even for beginners. For manufacturing you will need:

  • sheet synthetic winterizer;
  • thick fabric for sewing a cover and a thin beautiful one for a pillowcase. Natural materials, calico and chintz, are well suited for the cover. These are bright, beautiful and pleasant to the touch fabrics. They have a fairly high wear resistance and density, the seams on them do not creep out during washing;
  • zipper;
  • needle, thread, scissors;
  • ruler and felt-tip pen;
  • sewing machine.

Progress:

  • cut out 10 squares with sides of 44, 40, 36, 32 and 28 cm from a sheet padding polyester - two of each size;
  • fold the blanks into 2 stacks like a pyramid;
  • one of the pyramids, turning it over, put on the second pyramid. In this case, small squares with a side of 28 cm will be one on top of the other;
  • sew large squares together along the edges. All the rest will be inside the structure;
  • measure a padding polyester square blank and sew a thick fabric cover on a typewriter. Those who are more experienced in sewing can sew piping into the stitch along the entire perimeter of the cover. This will give the pillow a clearer shape and will not lose its geometric shape after washing;
  • turn out the cover and fill it, putting it on the padding polyester part. Then sew up tightly on a sewing machine;
  • with a small allowance for the size of the cover, cut out a pillowcase and sew it;
  • a soft plastic zipper with small teeth is sewn to the finished pillowcase.

The cost

The higher the quality of the raw materials used and the more stages in the process of making a padding polyester, the better and more expensive the fabric used for the cover, the higher the final cost of the product. When buying budget options, you need to take into account that if a product is purchased for daily use, then it will very quickly lose its quality and will need to be replaced with a new one. If an inexpensive model is purchased as a guest pillow or for infrequent use in nature, then such a product will last much longer, while maintaining elasticity, softness and excellent appearance.

The wholesale price of a product from the manufacturer measuring 60x60 cm with a cover made of inexpensive material is 100 rubles, and a slightly larger size - 70x70 cm, can be purchased for 115. Retail prices in stores are slightly higher, but despite this, buyers have the opportunity to purchase very inexpensive models …

Testimonials

The harm and benefits of padding polyester pillows are generally objectively assessed by consumers. There are both positive qualities and small disadvantages that appear in the process of using pillows:

  • low price. Compared to products made from other synthetic, and even more natural, fillers, synthetic winterizer is the most budgetary option. This allows you to purchase products very cheaply and makes it possible, if necessary, to replace it, without spending significant funds;
  • ease of use for people who prefer to sleep on their stomach;
  • compactness. With infrequent use, the product can be tightly rolled up and put into a closet, where it will take up much less space than a product with natural filling. And before use, it is enough just to straighten the fibers through the fabric of the cover, shake and beat the pillow a little;
  • the possibility of washing in an automatic machine and quick drying of the product;
  • hypoallergenic properties of synthetic winterizer. Such pillows can be safely used by people suffering from allergies and bronchial asthma. Bacteria, mold and fungus do not grow in synthetic winterizer. It is not toxic;
  • the main disadvantage of synthetic winterizer pillows is the quick wear of the filler and the need to replace the product with a new one;
  • the impossibility of using such products for people with neck problems and suffering from osteochondrosis is also noted.

Sintepon pillows are available in different sizes and colors, which allows you to choose a product for every taste and wallet.
