By type, fabric canvases are divided into frame and frameless. The first type is equipped with cords, the second, in turn, does not contain a rigid base and when folded, a lambrequin is formed, somewhat reminiscent of a frill. Popular double roman blinds usually consist of two different types of fabrics. For example, the inner curtain is made of blackout fabric, and the outer curtain is made of more light-permeable materials.
Decorative elements

It is possible to do this with your own hands if you have several readily available tools:
- First, you need to determine the desired length using a measuring tape, mark measurements on the structure, it is better to first detach the textiles from the cornice;
- The next step is to change the length of the lifting cord, it shrinks exactly the same length as the textile.
- Before cutting off the excess pieces of fabric and cord, it is necessary to measure the window opening and the curtain itself again, then retreat 2-4 cm from the first mark on the fabric in order to make a twist and hide the cut line. Thus, two lines are obtained - one for the cut, and the other for the hem;
- Then you can start getting rid of the extra centimeters of fabric. This must be done carefully, in a straight line and using sharp scissors;
- Next, you will need assembly glue to create a "blind seam". The piece remaining after the measurement is wrapped on the wrong side and fixed with glue. It is better to use wood or textile assembly glue. But if you wish, you can not glue, but sew on a textile hem;

The curtain rod of Roman blinds can be attached in several ways:

- Installation between the walls of the window opening. As a rule, standard windows have a niche that forms a window sill and additional walls, and it is to them that the cornice is attached. In this case, the distance from the window frame is chosen purely at the request of the owner, but at the same time taking into account the width of the niche.
- Fixing to ceilings or walls. The cornice is mounted directly into the wall or ceiling. The convenience of this method of fastening is that when the curtain is raised, access to the window sill and window is opened.
In addition to the various methods of fastening the cornice, there are also several types of textile fabric installation. There are:
- Fastening the curtain to the cornice with Velcro. This method allows you to easily remove the canvas and attach it back, which is very convenient if the location of the curtain involves its frequent cleaning of dirt.
