There are many types of curtains for finishing gazebos and verandas. Some of them have a decorative function, others - a protective one, but only a few models combine both of these advantages. PVC curtains are recognized as one of these models.
Features of the
Decorating the gazebo with curtains is a win-win solution to give it a cozy look. Curtains are made from different materials: fabric, plastic, tarpaulin and polyvinyl chloride or PVC.

PVC curtains are distinguished from all others by a number of features. First of all, they are much lighter than traditional designs. Secondly, PVC curtains perfectly protect the gazebo area from weather influences, such as rain or wind, as well as from attacks of annoying insects.

With such curtains, you can independently cover the gazebo around the entire perimeter, while it is possible to combine various types of film in one model, for example, to supplement a colored structure with transparent window inserts. Various pieces of film are mounted to each other using a special hair dryer capable of heating the surface to a temperature of 200 degrees. Fix the PVC curtains with eyelets, pulling the film onto the surface with bundles.

PVC curtains are easy to clean. They are frost-resistant, so there is no need to hide them indoors for the winter. However, there is one "but": frozen curtains cannot be rolled up, they can crack, from which the coating will become completely unusable. These designs are not subject to fading, moisture damage and other things. In addition, they are recognized as the most environmentally friendly option today.
A number of disadvantages inherent in PVC structures are also noted. First, they wrinkle easily. If the film is folded tightly and left for a while, it will form a hall that will be impossible to straighten.

Secondly, for many people a big problem is the almost complete lack of ventilation and the "greenhouse effect" in the room. To prevent this, modern models are equipped with special lifting mechanisms that allow you to easily raise the curtains and ventilate the room. It is also possible to install Velcro windows in the curtains so that they can be opened.

Choosing PVC curtains instead of traditional fabric curtains is a smart move, especially when you consider that the variety of models allows you to find an option just as well.
Protective film curtains are divided into the following types:
Tape. This type is similar to vertical blinds, which are installed in two rows in a checkerboard pattern. Frost-resistant curtains cannot be made from such curtains, but they are widely used indoors, for example, in factories, at car washes, and so on. Usually, such structures are hung in the doorway, equipped with a pivoting mechanism, but stationary models are also commonly used

Rolled. The one-piece web of the film is attached using special straps, and plumb weights are installed at the bottom. Models can be equipped with an electric drive or manually operated. Curtains for roller blinds are made from both solid pieces of film and perforated to eliminate the "greenhouse effect" and improve ventilation

Soft. Installation of such structures is the most demanded option today. Such curtains can be used as an alternative to traditional windows, while many advantages are guaranteed: good thermal insulation, shatterproof material, speed of installation or removal, durability, significant cost savings. The market offers both stationary and removable models, depending on the needs and wishes of the consumer

When making a choice in favor of one or another option, one must take into account the ability to provide thermal insulation. Current soft transparent curtains-films retain about 70% of heat, roller blinds - about 60%, while tape models-blinds - only up to 50%.

Regardless of the design, with proper operation, PVC curtains can last up to 15 years without losing their original appearance. Not every material can boast of such values, so durability is another reason why you should opt for PVC curtains.

Colors
In addition to structural variations, there are curtains in all sorts of colors. This or that type depends on the type of coating:
- Colored;
- Transparent with a colored seam along the contour;

- Colored with built-in transparent window;
- Colored with photo print;
- Translucent;
- Combined.

Despite the relatively young age of PVC curtains, peculiar traditions of using one or another type of coloring have already developed.
Terrace models or for a veranda are usually made transparent or combined (colored with a detachable window). Most often, such options are complemented by a "door" made of PVC film with the ability to open and close it, for example, with a zipper.

For cafes, preference is given to color models with photo prints. Often, small stalls or coffee shops get a PVC tent for free, but with the corporate logo of the sponsoring company. So the company provides itself with advertising, and the cafe - savings on the construction of a tent.
More mature establishments choose options with a print in the form of natural elements, for example, tree leaves, beaches, forests. This is especially true when the cafe is located in the middle of the city.
Seeing such drawings is relaxing, and the visitors of the cafe feel at peace. I want to come back to such establishments again and again.

In some cases, PVC curtains are installed not on windows, but only on door spaces. Then transparent models equipped with a clasp are selected, and the films are selected of the highest quality that can be found. Frequent use leads to rapid wear and tear, so it is not worth saving in this case.

If you plan on opting for a translucent option, be careful. For many, this color is strongly associated with hospital premises. However, if you choose the right shade of the film, it will look quite harmonious, at the same time allowing you to protect yourself from prying eyes.

How to choose?
When choosing one or another type or color of PVC curtains, it is worth focusing on many factors: is it planned to remove the film for the winter, what are the prevailing colors of the environment, for what purpose soft windows are installed instead of ordinary ones, and so on. If you decide in advance which qualities of PVC curtains are the most important, the choice will become much easier.
It will not be superfluous to read reviews about the experience of using products from PVC films, sometimes you can learn about the nuances that are known only in practice without sad consequences.

Flexible outdoor designs are selected for both summer verandas and year-round use. In the first case, there is much more room for choice: you can choose both a perforated model, and a solid one, and a roll one. Winter operation is a completely different matter. In addition to aesthetic issues, you need to take care of the functional component, for example, the ability of curtains to withstand low temperatures.
With such requirements, it is recommended to pay attention to special materials with increased frost resistance.

When choosing curtains-film for the veranda or for the terrace, it is recommended to take a closer look at the solid transparent models installed around the entire perimeter. From the inside, they can be supplemented with classic curtains, which add coziness to the entire room. PVC film will protect the curtains from rapid wear and tear and negative environmental influences. This combination is good in the summer, in winter it will look inappropriate.
From a stylistic point of view, opting for transparent options is a win-win. Many people find such models boring, preferring colored or photo-printed curtains. It is advisable to hire a designer to correctly match the colorful models to the style and decor, but if you yourself have a good artistic taste, you can make the right choice without it.

How to wash?
Maintenance of PVC curtains is extremely easy compared to other types. Due to the fact that PVC curtains are moisture resistant, it is allowed to wash them with plain water.
For home use, a synthetic detergent is purchased. Dust is removed from the curtains by sprinkling them with water, and especially dirty places are rubbed with a rag or sponge. However, this method is not applicable to transparent panels, every scratch on them will be visible. It is best to soak the dirt on them for a few minutes, then rinse the curtains again.

Large surfaces of PVC curtains are treated with water using a scattering can. A similar approach is more suitable for washing curtains in a cafe or stall, since in such places the structures are more susceptible to dirt and become quite impressive, so it is not possible to process them manually. Lathering gel products are also used for washing.
Curtains should be washed regularly. Despite the fact that dirt does not eat into them, it is better not to bring them to the formation of a hard crust, especially transparent soft windows. When simply dusting the curtains, it is enough to rinse them a couple of times with water to restore them to their original appearance.
Interior options
The veranda is equipped with transparent combined curtains. Here, both a static version and a roll for entrance are used. A large selection of different colors, in which the adhesive seams can be made, allowed the owners to choose the best option for decorating their terrace. In addition, PVC curtains are of various shapes and can be matched to any shape of the window.
The owners of this house also decided to opt for a PVC construction for two floors. Classic white is used as the paneling color. Despite the fact that it does not particularly harmonize with the environment, it does not look disgusting.
In this case, the structure can be removed at will; for its installation, wing nuts were used for manual untwisting.

PVC curtains can be used not only for framing verandas and terraces. Due to its heat-shielding properties in regions with average temperatures, it is possible to mount them on the windows of a residential building for year-round use. You can also insulate the balcony with them.

Summer cafes, protected from the weather by PVC curtains, look interesting and stand out against the general background. The most important thing is to choose the right color, and the owners of this design succeeded. White edging blends in with the walls and classic curtains and is unobtrusive, creating the illusion of open space.

PVC structures can even be installed on gazebos that are equipped with a barbecue. In this case, it will be necessary to provide for an improved ventilation system, since the heat from the barbecue will have nowhere to go and it can become unusually stuffy in the gazebo. The solution is to use roller blinds, which can be lowered and raised at will, regularly ventilating the room.

The folded roller blind looks like this. It is supplied with straps for hanging (at least two, but there may be more straps depending on the width of the curtain) and a weight so that the curtain hangs as needed in the unrolled state. Zippers or Velcro are often made on the sides to make the room completely closed when needed.

Terraces are often protected from the weather with PVC panels. In this case, this design is year-round: fastening on grommets provides for operation without removal. It was possible to additionally hang classic fabric curtains to make the room cozier and warmer.

Panoramic soft windows for a cafe are an effective solution, but not particularly practical. The films are quickly deformed and scratched, which is why the guest room immediately takes on a cheap, untidy look. To avoid this, you need to replace the curtains on time.
