LED lamps are used everywhere: for the automotive industry, in construction, for decorating the interior of the premises and the exterior of the building. With the advent of the brand Ecola on the market, the purchase of such lamps has finally become available.
Features of the
The Ecola brand appeared in 2000, offering a fairly wide range of various products at affordable prices. By 2010, the number of different models reached 600, and Ecola was recognized as one of the leaders in the Russian market.
Despite being a Chinese company, it offers fairly high quality samples with a long lifespan. Ecola products have both pros and cons, but the company is constantly working to eliminate the latter.
The company has its main production in China, in fact, their head office is located there, but there is also a representative office in Russia, in Moscow. The main profile of the brand is built-in lighting equipment and bulbs for it. Ecola is doing quite well: it has declared itself as a fairly good manufacturer, the positive aspects of the products are noted by both large organizations that sell the product and ordinary users. The quality seems to be by no means stereotypical Chinese. Lamps are durable, safe, presented by a lot of design solutions.
Ecola offers LED products at significantly lower prices than the competition, and the company's lamps are of good quality. They consume energy economically, which distinguishes LED models from ordinary incandescent lamps. The bulbs are durable and can last up to 30,000 hours, however, they can often be turned off and on, and they will not deteriorate.
Ecola has several patents, moreover, the company is constantly introducing the latest technologies, unique ideas, thanks to which LED lamps are presented in various design solutions, which are improved every season.
The company's bulbs tolerate changes in the weather environment, such as humidity, temperature changes, and others. They are not damaged, due to which their use is completely safe for both humans and the environment. Special cooling systems are introduced into the light bulbs, with their help the lamps constantly remain cold and do not cause heating of the surrounding objects. The company offers various modulations of the basement element, so that you can match the Ecola light bulb to any chandelier, sconce, lamp.
The company places particular emphasis on the production of lighting fixtures. with zero ripple factor. The pulsation of the luminous flux is practically not perceived by the naked eye, you can notice some fluctuations only with peripheral vision, and even then not always. However, in reality, pulsation plays a huge role: it affects a person in a negative way, increasing fatigue and badly affecting vision. With prolonged exposure to lamps with its high coefficient, difficulties with concentration, headaches, and severe fatigue appear.
By offering its consumers light bulbs with a pulsation rate of less than 1%, Ecola takes care of their health and well-being.
Ecola offers a huge range of different light-producing designs. These include the following:
Lamps. The company presents a large selection of lamps that differ in base structure and shape. Available types of plinths GX53, GX70, E14, E27, E40 or GU 5.3, G9… Bulb shapes are corn, candle, ball, spiral, or regular pear-shaped.Due to the wide range of shapes and designs, bulbs can be matched to any chandelier or sconce. Lamps are made both LED and energy saving. Glass can also be different: you can choose frosted, or transparent. The degree of light intensity depends on this: frosted glass absorbs about 5% of the light and scatters it, while transparent glass transmits the beam almost completely
Lamps. There are both recessed lamps and models on a clothespin or overhead. Various forms of cartridges, as well as the lamps themselves, amaze with their variety. You can pick up cartridges E271, GU5.3215, GU104, GX407, GX53313 or GX70… Luminaire shapes: circle, square, oval, rectangle, ellipse, cylinder, octagon. The models are made in various colors: white, gold, bronze and others. There are recessed and surface mounted spotlights that can be rotated and redirected directly within the holder. There are also dimmable models with the ability to adjust the intensity of the luminous flux
Searchlights. They are used for outdoor lighting as directional light sources. There are models with a lamp or LED. The second ones are much brighter than the first ones, but also a little more expensive. The sizes of structures, their power and temperature of light vary. So, with a value of 2700K, you can get a soft yellow-orange flux, at 4200K - neutral white, and at 6000K - cold white-violet
- Tape. The use of this relatively new type of backlighting has already fallen in love with all professional designers. Ease of installation and an abundance of options make LED strip an excellent choice for "difficult" areas. Ecola offers strips of various widths with different degrees of brightness, and it can vary depending on the power of the LEDs themselves, and on the frequency of their location. Various unusual colors, such as red, green, blue, white and others, allow you to choose from the lineup what you need exactly. The degrees of protection also vary: you can choose an LED strip for the bathroom.
Panels. This species appeared in the Ecola product line quite recently. The manufacturer claims that such a panel can easily replace conventional armstrong ceiling light fixtures. LED panels are available in a variety of wattage and color temperatures and consume significantly less electrical energy than standard ceiling lamps.
In addition to those listed, Ecola supplies accessories and components for all types of its products.
How to choose?
To make the right choice, you need to focus on many factors. In particular, the style unity of the room and the colors that prevail in it, the shape of the surrounding space and the type of ceiling, if you plan to install a ceiling lamp, are important factors.
The ideal choice for stretch ceilings would be the purchase built-in LED structures. Ecola models are renowned for their small footprint while maintaining luminaire power. The built-in model allows you to set aside only 50-60 mm of additional height for it.
When buying a bedside lamp, you should give preference to the options on the clothespin. They are easy to move when needed, and there is no need to worry about installation.
Surface models are good for government installations such as hospitals or schools, as well as for outdoor decoration. They are bulky and provide enough light to illuminate a large area.
The choice of lighting color also plays an important role. Cold white is good when you need to make the room as bright as possible. For ordinary houses, values above 4000 K are usually not applied; this is the prerogative of professional buildings, for example, beauty salons or shops.
Warm light is chosen for ordinary apartments and houses, where you need to create an atmosphere of comfort, coziness and peace.Ecola offers a choice of not only lamps of this color temperature, but also bulbs for ordinary sconces. Thanks to the latest design, the bulbs do not heat up at all and can even be used with fabric lampshades, and interesting shapes, for example, in the form of a candle, allow lamps to be installed in open sconces.
LED lighting made with LED strip will look good under the ceiling or behind a mirror, illuminating it. For LED strips, you can choose from the widest range of colors that can be found in the assortment of Ecola, so there should be no problems with the choice.
LED panels need to be bought to replace existing lighting structures using fluorescent lamps. Using LEDs is more economical and environmentally friendly, and by choosing a model with zero pulsation, you will increase the efficiency of work in this room.
LED panels are mainly purchased for offices, shopping malls and other places where performance is very important.
How to install?
Installation of Ecola LED luminaires is carried out by analogy with other similar lighting fixtures. You can mount point lighting sources yourself if you follow the given action plan:
- You will need the spotlights and lamps themselves, power wires, terminals in order to connect the wires, electrical tape and a switch.
- Choose soft wire. Depending on the type of ceiling, different wires can be used: VVG-2 (3) x1.5 for drywall, RKGM for plastic or MDF.
- Instead of ordinary household terminals, you should choose copper sleeves. They do not need to be checked every six months, since the wires do not carbonize upon contact with them.
- For stretch ceilings, instead of electrical tape, you should use a special heat-shrinkable pipe.
- Plan the lighting and mark on the plan where each lamp will be located. When planning, keep in mind that the distance between the lamps should not be more than a meter, and between the lamp and the wall - 60 cm.
- Run the wires connected to the wiring to each future luminaire from the place of the future switch and fasten to the frame. Do not leave the wires just lying on the surface of the stretch ceiling, it is unsafe.
- Stretch the canvas.
- Using a special device - wood crowns - make holes in the ceiling for the lamps. The diameter is selected based on the dimensions of the purchased lamps.
- Take the wires out. Fasten the wires and power contacts of the luminaires with the terminals.
- Mount the luminaire by screwing the legs of the stand to the ceiling in the recess. Attach the lamp posts to them. The ceiling sheet should first be reinforced with a tread ring on the inside and a heat-insulating ring on the outside, this will prevent the ceiling from breaking. Attach the lamp to the finished structure.
It is best to entrust such steps as wiring to professional electricians. They will be able to take into account all the nuances of the design of your room in order to lay the wiring as safely and correctly as possible.
Reviews of Ecola lamps are the most controversial. A fairly large part of consumers complain about the quality of products, referring to the fact that they have served much less than the promised period. The manufacturer explains this by improperly selected light bulb power or poor wiring, because as a result of power drops, the highest quality light bulb may become unusable.
Other people were unhappy that the fixtures were only warranted for 12 months. One can understand the indignation of people, since all the world's self-respecting manufacturers offer a longer-term guarantee.
However, a lot of positive reviews have also been written. The biggest delight was the brightness of the bulbs. Many people have written that some models are equipped with a fade-out function after shutdown. This allows the eyes to adapt to darkness more quickly.
Low price is another quality that consumers love. The availability of such lamps is very encouraging, and if one of them burns out or deteriorates, it can be replaced with a new one without painful consequences for the budget.
Ecola luminaires actually save electricity. Their buyers report that after repairing and installing this brand of LED lamps, they did indeed receive much lower electricity bills, while the quality and performance of the lighting only improved.
In general, people were divided into two roughly the same camps: those who like the products of the Ecola brand, and those who have sworn to ever buy the products of this company. It will not work to say definitely which reviews are more, because how many people, so many opinions.
