The bathroom is a special room in the dwelling, therefore its atmosphere should be similar. Lighting plays a key role in the decoration of this room, and its main element is the central lighting fixture. Bathroom chandeliers are a functional design technique, combining the main purpose and aesthetic load.

Features of the
Modern bathroom fixtures are far from the conservatism that was previously obeyed. Today these accessories look completely different and solve several problems, they are:
- light up the room;
- create a visual effect of space;
- accentuate the desired area of the room;
- set the tone for the basic design idea.

For the most part, these are practical and safe products that serve as a central luminaire and have additional illumination. Bathroom chandeliers provide the right type of lamps and the optimal choice of luminous flux power.
They obey the correct installation system, must create the most comfortable light conditions for taking a bath, carrying out cosmetic and hygienic procedures.

The modern central bathroom lamp is unique and has a lot of advantages, it:
- is made from a variety of raw materials on professional equipment using modern production technologies;
- has a rich model range, characterized by variability of forms, allowing each buyer to find the right solution for drawing up an interior composition;
- it has a varied color palette, which is convenient for matching a product to match the existing environment or adding light spots;

- has a lot of sizes, which allows you to choose an appropriate lamp for rooms of different sizes (especially important for small-sized bathrooms);
- it can be open or closed, which is convenient for placement and, depending on the height of the ceiling, allows you to position the product for different types of installation;
- has a wide variability in the number of light sources used, allowing you to change the degree of intensity of the light flux, taking into account the most comfortable conditions for the retina and optic nerve;
- based on the complexity of the model, the type of raw materials used, it differs in different costs, which allows you to find an approach to each client, taking into account the budget and taste preferences.

Waterproof models are a separate line of modern bathroom fixtures. When water gets in, they do not blink like classic counterparts, they turn on without problems and do not spark. Outwardly, it is difficult to distinguish them from the usual varieties: the cunning of protection is hidden inside.
Moisture-resistant models are equipped with additional elements that block the access of water to the cartridge, terminal, electronic unit and under the shade. In addition, they have rubber seals.

The main disadvantage of bathroom chandeliers is the fact that not all of them are resistant to moisture. Some of them fail quickly. Not all models of chandeliers of this type imply lamp replacement: some of them do not provide for repair at all, which, if a light bulb fails, leads to a stop in the operation of other lamps (in models with a serial circuit).
The disadvantage of some products is open type of lamps. Brands often offer options for lighting fixtures that are far from always suitable for a wet room: water vapor spreads throughout the room, especially if its area is small. Given the special love of some household members for hot water, a dangerous atmosphere is created in the room.
Therefore, you have to choose models of a closed type, and they do not always coincide with taste preferences.

Views
Not all bathroom fixtures look like chandeliers in the usual sense. Today this term means more than one variety in the form of a massive accessory with many shades. The existing varieties of bathroom fixtures are classified according to the type of installation, which is:
- suspended;
- near-surface.

Each variety has its own characteristics:
- Models hanging plan are lighting fixtures that are attached to the ceiling by means of a chain, rod or other suspension. Most often these are complex structures that require high ceilings and spaciousness of premises. They are inappropriate in the interior of small bathrooms, as they create the illusion of a decrease in space and are dangerous in case of contact with water.
- Near-surface options good because they are located close to the surface of the ceiling, do not have complex multi-level and design techniques with excess decor. They are more often strictly functional, although there is still an element of style in them. It is created through the use of a unique material or special shape.

Both those and other models are ceiling-mounted, although today many varieties of the near-surface plan are considered to be wall-mounted at the same time. This applies to closed-type luminaires with one shade (mostly round or square). Basically, central lighting fixtures for the bathroom are often used in conjunction with additional lighting sources, which are spotlights, sconces and LED strip-shaped lamps.
Therefore, when choosing a chandelier, the temperature of the luminous flux is taken into account, which should be identical, not disturbing the general atmosphere.

Models
The range of products is built on two principles: practicality and beautiful appearance. At the same time, the stylistics of the products allows a lot of opportunities for creating a special design idea. The most interesting types of form include products in the form:
- soap bubbles;
- laconic bowl;
- closed semicircle;
- convex rectangular plate;
- flat tablet;
- a single flower with a disc-shaped middle;
- laconic ball.

Products can have directional light, depending on the functionality, capable of changing the color of the glow shade (yellow, white, blue, green, red, blue, violet and others). This allows you to bring a different mood and aesthetic perception into the space of a special room.
However, you should not abuse creative shades: the color can affect the health of the eyes and the body as a whole, provoking depression and irritability. Therefore, a neutral warm shade is the optimal stylistic solution: it is the only one that does not harm human health.

Materials (edit)
The raw materials for the production of these chandeliers are diverse and not much different from their usual counterparts. However, if the classical techniques allow the development of models using chrome-plated fittings, as well as glass and crystal, special models can be made of plastic and wood, less often metal.
The first material is used to a minimum, since a short circuit can occur on contact with water. Wood is the best case. To give it a more interesting look, it is painted with special dyes.

Plastic is one of the main components of bathroom chandeliers, it is distinguished by excellent practical and quality characteristics. but this material is often performed in violation of technology, which reduces the service life of the fixtures. Glass is a good option for a shade, it scatters the luminous flux of lamps as accurately as possible, without reducing the degree of its intensity.
Crystal for such rooms is a demonstration of luxury, so these lamps adorn spacious bathrooms, which are often large rooms that combine a bathroom and a toilet room.

Lamps
Despite the assurances of the manufacturers of light sources about their exclusivity, not every type of light bulb is suitable for the bathroom. Of all the varieties, only LED and halogen lamps are suitable for the bathroom. The first ones are environmentally friendly, do not heat the flask and the surface of the ceiling, therefore, they imply any type of fastening without harm to the ceiling material (relevant for stretch ceilings or plastic).
They are distinguished by minimal energy consumption and do not harm human health, do not emit mercury vapors into the air, like energy-saving (luminescent) counterparts. These lamps are unique in their wide spectrum of color waves, although sometimes they are dominated by a cool blue tone, which is harmful to the eyes, and when suppressed, it flies out of the palette.

The second light sources are somewhat different from incandescent filaments, compared to which they convert more energy into a luminous flux, shine brightly and are resistant to constant switching on and off. They do not heat up as much as incandescent filaments, are designed to work up to 5000 hours, and have a light temperature close to natural light.
The disadvantage of such light sources for use in the bathroom is a prerequisite for closing the lamp with a shade.

Colors and decor
Color solutions for bathroom fixtures adhere mainly to light shades, indicated by dark strokes. It can be a white model framed with black stripes, a forged or bronze design with white shades, a ball-shaped product with transparent glass.
The main rules of color are not to conceal the brightness of the lamps and create an inviting atmosphere. Therefore, the lamps are covered with white or transparent shades: this way the light diffuses softer and the room is better illuminated.

The decoration of the models depends on the chosen style. In some cases, chrome-plated parts and a shade with a matte surface are quite enough, in others, a lot of imagination is allowed. In this case, the decorating technique is divided into two directions:
- creation of a unique shape;
- decoration of the product by means of decorative elements.
The first models are chandeliers with a minimum of finishing (maximum, it can be a gilded strip or chrome detail). The second welcomes elements of forging, a variety of lace, candles, crystal drops, glass balls.

Popular styles
The style of bathroom chandeliers is multifaceted and allows you to fit into the existing interior models of the most unusual shapes. Bathroom chandeliers are appropriate in classic and modern style, among which are especially attractive:
- classic;
- modern;
- minimalism;
- high tech;

- Art Deco;
- rococo;
- avant-garde;
- glamor.

Each style is unique in its own way and, with a skillful approach to design, allows you to create an original ceiling composition using different types of lighting together with backlighting.
Beautiful examples in the interior
Drawing up a bathroom interior is a special topic that requires a creative approach, taking into account human safety, the nuances of a particular room, the height of the ceiling and the degree of illumination (some bathrooms do not differ from living rooms, having windows). To understand how to harmoniously fit the central lamp into the interior, you can pay attention to beautiful design examples:
- The pendant model with candles and crystal decor is appropriate to accentuate a mirror, complementing other lamps.
- An Indian-style bathroom can be illuminated by a chandelier with wrought iron elements and laconic candles, supporting the design of the lamp with additional lighting in the form of wall sconces located symmetrically on both sides of the mirror.

- An eight-arm chandelier with a metal decor will harmoniously fit into the interior of neutral colors diluted with gold: for an appropriate infusion into the style, a shade of metal and the warm glow of lamps are enough for it.
- Designer chandeliers-balls will help to illuminate the Art Nouveau bathroom: they can be placed around the perimeter of the room, however, you should pay attention to the height of the suspension (it should not be too large).

- For those who like a subdued atmosphere, you can decorate the ceiling area above the jacuzzi with a laconic LED chandelier with a change in lamp color: this will help accentuate the bath area and give it an atmosphere of relaxation.
- If the style of the interior provides for a large drawing, it is worth choosing a laconic flat chandelier or even two, but small in size: supplemented with spotlights in the same style, they will illuminate the bath area and not interrupt the construction of the interior composition.
