The more technogenic the surrounding world becomes, the more palpable the need of a person to surround himself with a natural environment. When creating their home, people are increasingly turning to natural materials. Wood, stone, natural wallpaper and fabrics are preferred over plastics and other chemical materials.
Working with natural material should not be chaotic: starting repairs with an eye on the environment, you should know how to correctly introduce a tree into your home.

Advantages and disadvantages
Wood in the interior has an undeniable advantage over artificial material. But when choosing it as a finish, it is worth examining all the pros and cons that you may encounter.

The choice of material for finishing
When deciding to introduce wood into the interior, it should be remembered that it can become an accent for the surrounding space. Even before buying, you need to know where and how to use it, what to combine with. Real wood has a high price, choosing a finish, you can purchase both natural material and imitation for it. There are enough varieties for every taste and wallet.
Imitations are considered MDF and chipboard boards, laminate, veneer. In interiors with curved surfaces, you can use wooden wallpaper (thin veneer on thick paper). After gluing, they should be varnished. Natural products are obtained from oak, cedar, pine, linden, maple, mahogany.

A variety of finishing materials are used: lining, timber panels, cuts:
- The panels are considered the most expensive finishing option, they are made of solid wood and can be embossed, which allows you to add additional volume to the coating. Their surface is coated with varnish or wax.
- If the budget is limited, clapboard will do, it is easy to install, and it looks good. Of the minuses - he does not like moisture, temperature drops.

- An even simpler decor option is laminate. It is not as good as natural wood, but it is cheap, easy to work with, it will decorate not only the floor, but also the walls and ceiling.
- Such material as a block house gives the impression that the wall is made of a log house. Not everyone will use it in an apartment, designers use it to embody special ideas.
- Gusvarblok - versatile wooden panels, you can assemble any pattern from them.

When planning to use wooden decor in your interior, you should remember that it is combined with all natural materials: metal, stone, brick, glass, leather, fabrics. The relief gives a special uniqueness to the finish. When choosing a finishing material, it is worth considering the species and structure of the tree, thickness, color, and appearance.
Before purchase, the product is checked for signs of insect activity.

Interior use
Wood is the most common material in our homes. It creates a special comfort, works for positive emotions. Wood is appropriate in any design: it can be used to highlight a wall, cover the floor or ceiling, use it as a decor, make furniture, stairs, doors, window frames from it, it can be combined with any material.

Use cases:
Walls made of wood are soundproof, they keep warmth in the house, smell good and create a wonderful atmosphere. It is not necessary to cover all the walls with wood, you can only one of them, or even part, in the form of decor. An accent wall can be made at the head of the bed or a specific area can be selected. Panels, lining, laminate are suitable for walls. Cuts look exquisite in the interior (cut off an even transverse layer of wood)
A wall lined with logs is good in a country house, it supports the country style or Scandinavian direction.

Floor made of wood is very warm. Besides, it is so beautiful that you don't want to cover it with a carpet. Of the materials, parquet boards, wooden tiles, laminate are suitable. The color is chosen either very dark or light. All shades of brown are out of fashion today. But if you consider the strength and durability of wood, as well as the variability of fashion, then it is better to trust your taste. Many people like rough, untreated wood with an expressive embossed pattern

There are also many lovers of aged wood. On special equipment, it is fumigated with smoke until it becomes brown.
"Old" wood looks especially expressive in the interior:
- Beams, boards, tiles are used on the ceiling. In some design solutions, other materials are also used, for example, a laminate is used to highlight a zone on the wall at the head of the bed with a smooth transition to the ceiling. Spacious rooms are decorated with beams. The loss of height in the room will be 15-20 centimeters, but there are also pluses: wires are easily hidden behind the beams, lighting devices look beautiful on such a ceiling.
- Doors and windows from real wood, few can afford. They are durable, environmentally friendly, combined with glass and metal, sometimes they are made of wood in contrasting shades. They look rich and expressive.

- Furniture made from valuable wood species. It is beautiful, natural and durable, it will serve more than one generation. For those who cannot afford natural wood, there are budget furniture options. They are made from fiberboard, MDF, chipboard, the stores have a large selection of these products, they are modern and will satisfy any interior.
- Wood decor impresses with its sophistication and taste. It is nice to make it with your own hands from a driftwood or stump. But you can buy design work in the form of figurines, lamps, carved frames for mirrors and paintings.

You cannot do without wood in any interior: in a large living room, a tiny hallway, a bedroom, a children's room, even in a bathroom and a toilet.
- Living room - a universal room for a family, for guests, for communication and relaxation. Any design ideas can be embodied here. The wood is chosen in natural colors, in combination with soft furniture and pleasant lighting, you can achieve the maximum relaxing effect.
- For children's room a natural material that supports the natural microclimate is required. Tile panels of oak, larch and wooden furniture in bright colors are suitable.

- In the bedroom you cannot do without a cozy, warm material. Wooden headboard, bedside tables, chest of drawers are classics of the genre.
- In the kitchen many people prefer to see stone, tiles. They are easy to care for, but the room becomes like a stone "bag". If you introduce wood products into the kitchen interior, the atmosphere will immediately become warmer and more comfortable.

- In the hall the wall under the mirror can be decorated with dark wood. With good illumination, the mirror sheet will sparkle against a dark background.
- There is a preconceived notion that wood is not good bathroom … But how good the bathrooms themselves are, made of expensive solid wood! Being in them is as pleasant as swimming in a lake surrounded by a forest.

Epochs are changing, and wood is still the most demanded material in the interior, and no technical revolutions will force people to abandon its attractive power.
