The article briefly describes the projects of two-story houses 6x6 meters. You can get an idea of \ u200b \ u200bconstructions from a bar and from foam blocks, from aerated concrete and logs, about dwellings with a terrace and a bathroom, with a flat roof, and so on. Finally, you can study examples of specific projects.

general information
A house two stories high looks, no doubt, more impressive than a one-story building. On the same plot of land, it allows you to get almost twice as much useful space. “Almost” - because a lot of space is taken up by the staircase and the platform around it at both levels.
These circumstances largely compensate for the difficulties of construction work and the increased cost.

In many cases, they prefer to equip not a 6x6 log cabin, but a brick house, since this option is much more modern and practical. Of course, bricks are heavier than timber structures and even profiled timber. However, it is much more resistant to fire and biological damage even without taking into account additional treatments, that is, in its original natural form. The beautiful appearance of well-executed masonry also pleases people.
True, you will have to put up with lengthy construction. Even when a responsible and well-equipped team takes over the work, it is difficult to keep within one warm season. If this is critical, it is worth considering options from foam blocks, which are much less laborious.

What is the best location on the ground floor?
It is not too important to discuss additionally which material is better, whether it is more correct to build houses from a log or from a bar, or whether it is more correct to build structures from aerated concrete. In any case, the correct use of each cube of usable space plays an important role. Mainly on the first tier, the kitchen and utility rooms are located. But for sleep and everyday leisure, it is more correct to take the top off.
In any case, it is advisable to arrange both a one-story and two-story houses with a minimum number of corridors.

If they do not exist at all, this is all the more wonderful. Direct communication between rooms is the most practical and convenient even from a purely emotional point of view. And it is clearly more comfortable to realize that the housing tax is not paid for walk-through premises. But sometimes you can't do without corridors. In this case, the solution is paradoxical: let them be as wide as possible so that a couple of oncoming people can quietly disperse there.
Narrowing rooms should be avoided whenever possible. What was quite acceptable in the old panel fund is categorically undesirable in a private house. It is better to draw up an exact list of the necessary premises in advance, you can even paint it on a sheet of paper.

Important: if elderly people live in the house (or those who will probably reach this age in the next 10-15 years), the arrangement of the bedroom on the first floor turns out to be reasonable. It will not work to do with one bathroom - there should be at least 1 per floor in order to avoid unpleasant incidents and just household problems.
Bringing the bathroom or toilet closer to the bedroom is not very smart. Between them it is more correct to place a medium-sized vestibule with a wardrobe function. It is unlikely that sleeping or just vacationers will enjoy listening to everything that happens behind these walls. On the ground floor, it is appropriate to locate a laundry room. It is good to connect the exit from the house or even the entire front wall with the terrace.

The boiler room should have not only a window, but also water supply and sewerage. With this in mind, it is placed with the expectation of the most simple wiring. Boilers with a capacity of no more than 60 kW can be installed in kitchens. The pantry is located under the stairs. The equipment of the vestibule or the abandonment of it in favor of a large hallway is a matter of personal choice.

How to equip the second floor?
If possible, it is worth abandoning solutions with a flat roof. The constructions of a 2-storey building, even with a pitched roof, benefit purely aesthetically, not to mention the difference in relation to solid and liquid precipitation. Of course, the design must include wind and structural loads. Additionally recommend:
- insulate the roof with slabs or rolls;
- reserve a gap for ventilation during insulation;
- use soft roofing materials that dampen extraneous sounds.

Gas is most practical for heating. However, then its layout should be thought out already at the construction stage. The boiler is usually placed either on the veranda or in the kitchen corners. It is reasonable to place the oven in the same places.
Instead of a box-like electric boiler, it is more elegant to use an electric fireplace - but both of them, of course, require the design of powerful wiring.

As for the premises on the second floor, there are usually sleeping and guest areas. Sometimes, however, it is more correct to combine them. From the corridor, where one gets directly from the stairs, there should be free access to all rooms. Most often, preference is given to solutions with two bedrooms, one of which serves as a children's room in family dwellings. If you reduce the corridor to a minimum, it is sometimes possible to place a second bathroom on the saved space.

Projects overview
Quite good living conditions are created in a 6x6 house with:
- living room 18.9 sq. m;
- bedroom 8 sq. m;
- hall of the second floor 10.4 sq. m;
- bedrooms on the second floor with an area of 10.7 sq. m.

Another solution involves using on the ground floor:
- bathroom;
- hallway;
- boiler room;
- terraces;
- guest area.
The second floor is allocated for:
- a smaller bedroom;
